Their discussion will explore Dr. Wright’s vision for Maryland schools and lessons she brings from her success in implementing evidence-based literacy practices in Mississippi.<\/p>\n

Under her leadership, Mississippi fourth graders made enormous strides on both the reading and math sections of the National Assessment of Educational Progress, a test commonly referred to as the Nation\u2019s Report Card. With Maryland, one of the richest states in the U.S., having experienced a steady decline in achievement, change is certainly called for.
